A patient at another local practice received two telephone calls from a man claiming to be from 'The Wellbeing Centre' who said he was calling on behalf of the doctors. He said he was doing a survey to make sure people were taking their medication and that they didn't have any worries. He gave a telephone number which was unobtainable. He offered to send the patient some vitamin tablets.
The surgery had no knowledge of this person and he was not acting on behalf of the practice as he told the patient.
The Practice involved have reported this incident to the counter fraud department who have advised them to stay vigilant and report any further incidences.
